Founder & CEO

Sugel Cruz, the founder and CEO of Unique Care and Recovery Services, LLC, has worked for over 15 years in non-profit organizations, providing counseling, guiding, and supporting individuals with mental illness and substance abuse. In addition, she helps individuals and families explore various components that affect the family dynamic and individuals' ability to obtain their goals—as a professional CEO and leader, aiming to bring positive leadership to influence a difference and support our clientele in regaining what they have lost. She sets an example by initiating and encouraging individuals to have the motivation and confidence to obtain.

Ms. Cruz's education and experiences as a leader in the social services field have allowed her to help individuals, families, and the community to meet their needs.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Health Administrative Services, a Master of Science in Social Work, obtained her Licensure Master Social Work, 350 educational hours of training skills in substance abuse counseling, a Certified Master In Addiction Counseling, a Certified Anger Management Specialist and Certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Ms. Cruz's healing method generates a healthy client and therapist alliance, supporting individuals in increasing insight, approaches, and tools to help attain their goals. She employs Trauma Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focus Brief Therapy, Psychoeducation Model, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness.
