Sugel Cruz is the Founder and CEO of Unique Care and Recovery Services, LLC, bringing over 15 years of experience in the non-profit and behavioral health sectors. A dedicated and compassionate leader, Sugel has devoted her career to supporting individuals and families facing the challenges of mental illness, substance use, trauma, and emotional distress.

 

With a strong foundation in social services, Sugel has empowered countless individuals to reclaim their well-being, rebuild self-worth, and reconnect with their communities. Her work emphasizes conflict resolution, communication strategies, and evidence-based coping tools that help individuals and families move forward in healing and recovery.

 

Sugel holds a Master of Social Work with licensure and a Bachelor of Science in Health Administrative Services. Her professional qualifications are further enhanced by certifications as a Master Addiction Counselor (with additional academic hours of training in substance abuse counseling), Anger Management Specialist, Parent Training Specialist, Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) provider. As a bilingual Spanish speaker and experienced school social worker, she is uniquely positioned to serve diverse communities with empathy and cultural sensitivity.

 

Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and strength-based, incorporating Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Psychoeducational interventions, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness practices. Sugel is deeply committed to providing personalized, evidence-based care that promotes lasting change and resilience.
